The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America and Berner-Garde Foundation, in collaboration with Rametrix Technologies Inc. (rametrixtech.com) are studying a new urine-based test that may help to detect cancer in dogs.

To assist with this research, specifically targeting Bernese Mountain Dogs, we are working to help Rametrix collect urine samples. If you are bringing your dog(s) to the 2025 BMDCA National Specialty, we would like you to consider having your dog provide a sample for this research. On Tuesday, 29 through Friday, May 2, Rametrix will have a vet tech at the Berner-Garde booth that will give you a collection kit that you can return with your sample.

There is no charge to participate, but you do need to fill out and sign a consent form for each dog that is contributing a sample. Your dog(s) must also be in the Berner-Garde Database to participate.

To prepare for participation, please make sure your dog(s) are in the database. You can optionally fill out and print the consent form, sign and date it, then bring it to the booth to pick up your collection kit. The consent form can be accessed here.
